Creating Events

Tap the + button to create a new event. You can set:

Title (Required)

What the event is. The title supports @mentions - for example, mention a saved location like "@Giovanni's" or a person like "@Mom".

Event Type

Select the type of event. This determines the icon shown and helps categorize your events.

Date & Time

Start Date & Time

When the event begins. For all-day events, only the date matters.

End Date & Time

When the event ends. For multi-day events like vacations, set the end date accordingly.

All Day Toggle

Turn on for events that don't have specific times - like birthdays or holidays.

Location (Optional)

Where the event takes place. This field supports @mentions - you can mention a saved location from your Locations list, and it will link automatically.

People (Optional)

Who's attending or involved. Use @mentions to reference people from your saved contacts.

Description (Optional)

Additional details about the event. Also supports @mentions.

Reminders

Set one or more reminders to get notified before the event. Options include:

  • At time of event
  • 15 minutes before
  • 30 minutes before
  • 1 hour before
  • 2 hours before
  • 1 day before
  • 1 week before

You can set multiple reminders for important events.

Recurrence

For repeating events, set a recurrence pattern:

  • Daily - Every day
  • Weekly - Same day each week
  • Monthly - Same date each month
  • Yearly - Annual events like birthdays and anniversaries

Yearly recurrence is particularly useful for birthdays and anniversaries.

Visibility

  • Shared - Both you and your partner can see this event
  • Private - Only you can see this event

Pinned

Pin important events so they appear at the top of your Feed.

Enable this option to sync this event to your connected external calendars. See Calendar Integration below.

Tips

  1. Use event types for organization - The type determines the icon, making it easy to scan your calendar visually

  2. Set multiple reminders for important events - A reminder a week before and another the day of ensures you don't miss anything

  3. Use yearly recurrence for birthdays and anniversaries - Set once and never forget again

  4. Pin truly important events - Major upcoming events like vacations or anniversaries are good candidates for pinning

  5. @mention locations - Instead of typing addresses, save locations first and @mention them for quick entry

  6. All-day for full-day events - Use all-day for birthdays, holidays, and events without specific times

  7. Private for personal appointments - Use private visibility for events your partner doesn't need to see

  8. Connect your calendars - Sync with Google, Apple, or Outlook so Couple Tools events appear everywhere you need them

  9. Check for conflicts - With calendar import enabled, you can see your other commitments when planning couple events
