Couple Tools - Overview
Couple Tools is a mobile app designed to help couples manage their shared life together. Whether you're coordinating daily tasks, planning date nights, keeping track of important dates, or simply staying connected throughout the day, Couple Tools brings everything into one place.
What is Couple Tools?
At its core, Couple Tools is a private space for you and your partner. Unlike general productivity apps, everything in Couple Tools is designed with couples in mind:
- Shared by default - Most features are built for collaboration, so you're always on the same page
- Privacy when you need it - Mark items as private when something is just for you
- Real-time sync - Changes appear instantly on your partner's device
- One subscription, two people - Your partner joins for free
Key Concepts
Your Couple Account
When you sign up for Couple Tools, you create a couple account. This is the shared space where all your couple's data lives. Think of it as your digital home together.
- One person creates the account and becomes the owner
- The owner invites their partner to join
- Both partners have equal access to shared content
- The subscription covers both of you
Shared vs. Private
Every item you create (tasks, events, notes) can be either:
- Shared - Visible to both you and your partner
- Private - Only visible to you
You can set your default preference in Settings, and change visibility on any individual item.
Main Features
Feed (Home)
Your central dashboard showing recent activity across all features. See what's been added, completed, or updated at a glance. Quickly create new tasks, events, or notes using the floating action button.
Chat
A private messaging space just for the two of you. Send messages, share photos, react with emojis, reply to specific messages, and keep your conversations in one place - separate from the noise of other messaging apps.
Tasks
A shared to-do list designed for couples. Create tasks, assign them to yourself or your partner, set due dates, and organize them into custom lists. Never forget who was supposed to pick up the groceries again.
Events
A shared calendar for everything from date nights to doctor's appointments. Set reminders, add locations with maps, create recurring events for anniversaries and birthdays, and sync with your external calendars.
Notes
A flexible space for storing information you both need. Create shopping lists, save gift ideas, store important contacts, jot down recipe ideas, or keep a shared journal. Notes support rich text and checklists.
Search
Find anything across your entire account. Search tasks, events, notes, messages, people, and locations from one place. Filter by type to narrow results and tap any result to jump directly to that item.
Mentions
Use @mentions throughout the app to reference people, places, and more. Mention your partner in a task description, reference a saved location in an event, or link to other notes. Type @ to see suggestions, or use the QQ keyboard shortcut.
Calendar Integration
Connect Couple Tools with your existing calendars. Sync events with Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook. Export Couple Tools events to your device calendar so everything stays in sync across your digital life.

Your data belongs to you. Request a full export of all your Couple Tools data at any time through the My Data screen in Settings.

Getting Started
- Download the app from the App Store or Google Play
- Create your account with your email and a password
- Set up your profile - add your name and timezone
- Invite your partner - send them an invitation link
- Start using the app - add your first task, event, or note
Your partner will receive an invitation to join your couple account. Once they sign up, you're both ready to go!

Subscription
Couple Tools offers a free trial so you can explore all features before subscribing. After your trial:
- Monthly or yearly subscription - Full access to all features
- Lifetime option - One-time purchase for permanent access
- One subscription covers both partners - Your partner never pays
If your subscription expires, you'll still be able to view your data in read-only mode.
