Tips

  1. Use the right note type - Each type is designed for specific use cases; shopping lists have checkboxes, contacts have structured fields, etc.

  2. Pin frequently accessed notes - Your grocery list, important contacts, or current trip planning notes are good candidates

  3. Use @mentions for context - Mention a person in gift ideas, or mention a location in a recipe note

  4. Private for personal notes - Use private visibility for personal journal entries or surprise gift ideas

  5. Filter by type - When you have many notes, use the filter to quickly find what you're looking for

  6. Search in notes - Use the global Search to find content within your notes

  7. Notes appear in Feed - Recently updated notes show up in your Feed, keeping you both informed

  8. Keep shopping lists handy - Pin your main shopping list so it's always at the top

Common Use Cases

Grocery/Shopping List

Create a Shopping note and add items as you think of them. Check off items while shopping - they'll show a strikethrough but stay visible so you can see what you've already grabbed. Your partner can add items too, and you'll both see the same list in real-time.

Gift Ideas

Create an Idea note called "Gift Ideas for [Person]". Add ideas throughout the year. When a birthday or holiday approaches, you'll have a ready list. Use private visibility if it's a gift for your partner!

Important Contacts

Create Contact notes for:

  • Your doctor, dentist, and specialists
  • Home service providers (plumber, electrician, HVAC)
  • Babysitters or pet sitters
  • Emergency contacts

Trip Planning

Create a General or List note for trip planning:

  • Places to visit
  • Restaurants to try
  • Things to pack
  • Reservations to make

Favorite Recipes

Create Recipe notes for dishes you both love. Include ingredients and instructions so you can recreate them anytime.
